“Grace”
She’s my second book and hopefully doesn’t take me three years to write, ha.
She’s terrifying and therapeutic. Thrilling yet shameful. Sometimes I can write 500 words easily, other times, I have to walk away before my heart beats through my chest and my throat closes in a panic attack. She’s close to home, but she’s also in a completely different dimension.
Who did it? I don’t even know yet. Grace is trying to remember, too.
I never thought I’d write a murder mystery, I don’t usually read them because I can’t handle the suspense; I prefer a light read, or fantasy, or fairytales, or “nice” fiction. Even historical fiction gets a little heavy sometimes….but not Grace. She’s a complete thriller till the end, and even then, will we know?
I’m 14,000 words in and the story keeps changing, evolving with every word, every idea. It’s extraordinary - a story that I’m telling myself, that one day I’ll tell you, but I’m not even sure what I’m going to type next. Fiction is truly an escape, truly where I belong…
